·                     Greetings:

There will be no Spirit of Gravity in December so we can spend our time looking forward to the great stuff lined up for the New Year.

January has Scanner, I'm Dr Buoyant and Slash's Wormhole while February has Urban Delights, Gagarin and Komuso.

We're particularly pleased to have Scanner down, as this will be the first time Robin has shared a stage with former Rimbaud Brother Tony (I'm Dr Buoyant and This Sound Bureaucracy) since 1984. Long time friends of The Spirit of Gravity may remember the track he contributed to our first compilation CD.
Completing the line-up will be a return of Henry Collins' two string bass hoover hybrid "Slash's Wormhole".

And February sees the return of Gagarin to the Spirit of Gravity. Graham Dowdall (aka 'Dids') has played with all kinds of people, from Nico and John Cale to Iranian electronica songstress Roshi via Ludus, Pere Ubu, Suns of Arqa and Eric Random.

Along with him we have Spirit of Gravity member Derek Thompson's Komuso, plus raucous electronica types Urban Delights.

We'll return with the normal Gravitational Pull in January, until then we hope you enjoy your festive seasons and to keep you entertained we are up to date on the Spirit of Gravity blogspot, with lots of video and mp3's added, and we've also got some new music on the MySpace page.

·                     Now available

The latest edition of the free seasonal download compilation “DIH and friends – Christmas 2008” is now available at http://www.archive.org/details/dihandfriendsxmas08, featuring the Spirit of Gravity’s I’m Dr Buoyant, with other regulars to the series such as Hard Off, Solypsis and Meep.

In the words of compiler Andy N, “For those not familiar with the DIH and friends series, the full purpose of the album is little more than a laugh really to see what we can cut up, borrow or in some cases simply use....  It started all the way back in 2002 and is an ongoing concern. There is going to be an additional EP with a few extra tracks that weren’t ready in time for this comp which I am hoping to get ready for Christmas Eve if anybody is interested in submitting a second track or a track in general. In the meantime, enjoy and let me know what you think!”
